"It's very important to look great if you want to make a point" - Vivienne Westwood

In the inspiring video that British Vogue posted onto their YouTube channel, Vivienne Westwood and Naomi Campbell share a very interesting conversation around climate change, and possible solutions that we can all do to improve it.
I really enjoyed watching this YouTube video as not only do I admire Vivienne and Naomi as individuals and artists but I also completely agree with their shared passion for activism and their views on current affairs.
Throughout Vivienne Westwood's career she has historically always been an activist for behaving sustainably in regards to reducing fashion waste, but from watching this YouTube video it is evident that she not only still holds these views but they are even stronger now than they ever were before (and rightly so!).  During the 1970s (the era in which Westwoods career kickstarted), she was part of the 'punk' movement. This was a reaction against the leaders of Vietnam war arguably still having control over the world, therefore they wanted this to stop and to make the world a more peaceful and better place.  Nowadays, she stands for the 3 R's; reduce, reuse and recycle. All of which are things that we can do as members of society in order to prevent our unwanted clothes becoming mountains of waste in landfill sites and thus contributing to the serious global warming disaster that Naomi and Vivienne discuss in the video.
Likewise, Vivienne Westwood also suggests that we should 'buy less and wear more' (and even has this as a slogan printed on the t-shirt she is wearing in the video). In order words, stop frivolously buying cheap clothes from fast-fashion websites purely because they are cheap with the intention of only wearing them once or twice,  and instead start buying decent quality clothes that we can wear again and again and again (perhaps suggesting that people should invest in the luxury, good quality items from her brand); 'quality not quantity'.
Overall, I think that more people should watch this inspiring video and start taking the issue of global warming and climate change more seriously as like Vivienne Westwood says - "The world is too fast to live and too young to die".
